General / How to compensate miners?
December 28, 2015, 11:30:05 AM
Is it correct that Hivemind will be a sidechain to Bitcoin? In that case, how would miners be compensated for merge mining Hivemind?

Suppose it's just the dawn of PM trading, and there's only one Decision on the Ballot. Will it break anything?

P.S. Tried to find the answer in the papers, but couldn't (maybe overlooked it)

General / Specialized oracle software

Is there any need for specialized oracle software, or will the oracles just input their decisions via native PM interface?

For Truthcoin to succeed, users must be interested in prediction markets in general. What's unique about Truthcoin that will make users more interested in prediction markets than they are now?

General / A competing prediction marketplace?
November 18, 2015, 03:48:54 PM
Pardon my ignorance, but what prevents a clever marketing guy from copying Truthcoin code and setting up his own prediction marketplace?

If nothing prevents it, does that mean that winning prediction marketplace will be decided by marketing rather than technology?

Off Topic / Broken link
November 18, 2015, 02:13:16 AM
On http://bitcoinhivemind.com/presentations/, the "Value of a Truthcoin" link is broken. I found the presentation nevertheless, but other people might not be so determined.

Is this forum the right place to report such minor issues?

November 17, 2015, 03:13:52 PM
The forum software requires to solve captchas like http://joxi.ru/KAgKXRDuOkBqAl for every comment. Does it serve to discourage users with low reputation from commenting?

General / How PMs benefit our society
November 17, 2015, 11:47:24 AM
I've been reading the white papers, and was convinced by the "Snowden" case. In a flash of revelation, PMs made perfect sense.

So I reasoned other people might be convinced by this case, too — and decided to "remix" it into a separate post.

But I'm worried if my understanding of PMs is right. In particular, the claim that "[PMs] also use cryptocurrency instead of fiat, which provides the necessary anonymity." Isn't it actually pseudo-anonymity, and our hypothesized Snowden can still be tracked?
